Losing weight is very important to the health, and losing even just a few pounds can bring a host of benefits to the body. It will reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, atherosclerosis and other serious medical conditions that can be fatal and lead to death.
Weight loss is such a major issue in today’s modern world that all sorts of diet and weight loss products have been discovered and made available to the market. One of these is the HCG Diet. HCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, a hormone that is naturally occurring in the body. Scientific studies have led to the discovery that this hormone could lead to weight loss, thus the emergence of HCG Drops.
HCG drops are taken orally, and is carried through the bloodstream through the sensitive tissues in the mouth. Along with a strict diet, dramatic weight loss results are said to occur after a month of regular use. Dr. Oz thoroughly discussed this diet in his famous television show, and recommends it to his many followers. After his endorsement, HCG diet gained popularity rapidly, as people are looking for new ways to lose weight. So when Dr. Oz says it is HCG diet, they believed him, of course.
Homeopathic HCG
Due to its popularity, HCG is now being made available in other forms aside from drops. It is currently classified in two categories. One is medical or prescription HCG, which comes in drops, injections and pillules. The other form is the one which is recently being promoted as Homeopathic HCG. It claims to have the same effect as medical HCG, and is in fact touted to be even better than the rest. This claim raised some debate on which of these two are better – prescription or homeopathic.
Experts have reviewed these products, particularly the lastest fad that is Homeopathic HCG. Based on the reviews and latest news, it seems that homeopathic HCG is simply what it is – a fad. It has not been evaluated and approved by the Food and Drug Administration, hence, the government agency does not recommend its use at all. Its safety is very questionable.
Another thing is that HCG’s ability to aid in weight loss was discovered by Dr. Simeons, and the prestigious doctor used only HCG drops in his studies and diet plan. No mention was ever made of homeopathic HCG.
Also, for a product to be considered as homeopathic, they must appear in the list of homeopathic drugs or medication of Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia. Medical experts and news writers found out that HCG is not in the list. The internet and health fraud department of Food and Drug Administration gave notice that homeopathic HCG is an unapproved drug, and its distribution and sale in the market is an illegal activity. They further issued a statement that homeopathic HCG is not approved for weight loss at all.
To make matters worse, homeopathic HCG was found not to contain or have very little HCG. Homeopathic is actually an industry code which means no real HCG is present. True HCG such as HCG drops, requires a doctor’s approval and prescription. You cannot order or purchase HCG without a prescription.
In light of these latest discoveries, people are being warned from using homeopathic HCG. As mentioned earlier, the FDA strictly points out that it is unapproved and illegal.
